“Quartet Albada has one of the best assets for making good music: the joy and desire to play for pleasure and without anxiety, the longing to make music together, and an absolute lack of empty looks and routine attitudes” (Xavier Pujol, El Pais).

The Albada Quartet originated in 2001 with the desire to perform chamber music dedicated to this style using historical instruments and criteria. Its repertoire is centred on classical, but it also expands towards the Baroque era and towards the pre-romantic/romantic era. It likewise includes the collaboration of other interpreters in order to cover a wider repertoire.

The members of the group, who come from four different countries, share the fondness and sensitivity for historical interpretation, and they form a part of prestigious international groups of early music such as “Le Concert des Nations” (Jordi Savall), Köln Concert; Les Arts Florissants (William Christie); Al Ayre Español ( E. López Banzo), among the most notable. The Quartet combines them as an expressive instrument of energy and emotion that expands beyond the group.

In 2006 and coinciding with the Mozart year, they recorded the Requiem by Mozart (quartet version by Peter Lichtental) for the label, Arsis.
